Three residents of Voorschoten Receive Royal Honors

Ms. Zweers-Lampo was officially registered as a volunteer with De Zonnebloem’s Voorschoten chapter in 2004. Prior to that, she served as a support volunteer. Her activities include helping to organize and supervise the annual regional vacation and various activities for De Zonnebloem’s approximately 220 guests. In 2024, Ms. Zweers-Lampo was named Volunteer of the Year by De Zonnebloem’s Voorschoten chapter.

Since 2012, Ms. Zweers-Lampo has been active in the Voorschoten Association for the Elderly. She has served on the travel committee, the support committee, and the events committee. She spends most of her time as the coordinator of the weekly social afternoon. Ms. Zweers-Lampo welcomes guests, assists older visitors who have limited mobility, purchases prizes for bingo, and provides nursing care when needed.

In 2018, Ms. Zweers-Lampo became a volunteer at the Odense Huiskamer, a gathering place for people with (early-stage) dementia or memory problems and their caregivers. She chats with the guests, helps serve lunch, and leads game activities.

In addition to all of the activities mentioned above, Ms. Zweers-Lampo has also volunteered with the Kimball O’Hara Scout Troop and served on the parent committee at the Vlietschool.

Ms. Zweers-Lampo was awarded the title of Member of the Order of Orange-Nassau for her contributions in the field of health care and social welfare.

Mr. Eilander became a volunteer at the Protestant Church in Voorschoten in 1981. For five years, he organized a gathering every Friday evening featuring various activities for teenagers, and he organized an annual weekend camp for this group. Mr. Eilander subsequently became a youth elder and chair of the Youth Council at the Reformed Church Het Kruispunt. During this time, he was also a member of the call committee for Rev. Ledegang.

In September 2006, Mr. Eilander became chair of the Het Kruispunt parish council. He was tasked with merging the three Voorschoten parish councils—Het Kruispunt, Dorpskerk, and Ontmoeting—into a single general church council and uniting the Protestant congregation under one church: the Dorpskerk. Following the merger, he became chair of the general church council of the Protestant Congregation of Voorschoten.

In 2024, Mr. Eilander became chair of the call committee for a new pastor of the Protestant Congregation of Voorschoten, who was installed in April 2025.

In addition to his commitment to church life, Mr. Eilander has also been active as a volunteer in sports, culture, and community life: he served as chairman of the Foundation for Interdenominational Secondary Education in Leiden and the Christian Korfball Association of Voorburg and Surrounding Areas.

Since 2022, he has been welcoming visitors to Naturalis in Leiden as a host and assisting with the museum’s school programs. During that same period, he became a volunteer at the Cultuurfabriek Voorschoten: Mr. Eilander is chair of the Cultural Participation and Education Working Group, secretary of the Events Working Group, and, since May 2024, a member of the municipal working group “Design and Layout of the Kruispuntkerk Voorschoten.” In March 2023, Mr. Eilander became chairman of the Boegschroef Foundation, a management foundation serving the Leif Erikson Scouting Association.

Mr. Eilander was awarded the title of Member of the Order of Orange-Nassau for his contributions in the fields of religious life, culture, and youth welfare, among others.

Ms. Heisen is the initiator and founder of the Villa Joep Foundation. She and her then-husband, Joep’s father, established the foundation in 2004 after their young son Joep passed away on October 21, 2003, at the age of 4, from neuroblastoma. Since its founding, Ms. Heisen has been a member of the board of the Villa Joep Foundation. She is the figurehead and driving force behind the foundation. In addition, she motivates and guides all volunteers and board members. Furthermore, she develops the policies, strategic plan, and strategy of the Villa Joep Foundation for the present and the future.

In her role as a board member for Fundraising, Ms. Heisen serves as an account manager for various (corporate) sponsors and donors. Ms. Heisen ensures that 100% of every euro donated goes toward neuroblastoma research. Thanks to her dedication, the Villa Joep Foundation has raised over 19 million euros since its founding in 2004 and has funded more than 40 cancer research projects. In addition, she maintains contact with researchers, doctors, and the foundation’s ambassadors.

In September 2016, the Friends of Villa Joep Foundation was established. This foundation ensures the separation of funds for scientific research (the Villa Joep Foundation) and funds for administrative expenses and additional activities (the Friends of Villa Joep Foundation). The boards of both foundations consist of the same unpaid individuals, including Ms. Heisen.

Ms. Heisen was awarded the title of Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau for her contributions to the field of pediatrics.
