Take part in the 2021 purchasing trends survey

The Province of South Holland will launch a large-scale shopping patterns study in early September. The study will identify where residents do their grocery shopping, shop for other items, and make specific purchases, as well as how satisfied they are with the various shopping locations. This information will shed light on the performance and appeal of shopping districts, thereby helping municipalities and provinces strengthen and improve retail facilities. The municipality of Voorschoten is also participating in the study, which is being conducted by the research firm I&O Research.

The retail sector has changed in recent years. While online shopping has experienced strong growth, vacant storefronts are becoming more common on the streets, and stores are being converted into restaurants, cafes, or residential units, for example. Municipalities and provinces are working together with retailers to create attractive downtown areas, village centers, and a comprehensive range of retail options. To do this as effectively as possible, periodic research into consumer behavior is of great importance.

Participants Wanted

Fieldwork will begin in early September. During this period, residents of Voorschoten will also be invited to participate in the study. They will receive a written invitation in the mail on behalf of the province. The households have been selected at random. You can participate by filling out an online questionnaire. Residents who do not receive a letter but would still like to participate can complete the questionnaire at www.startvragenlijst.nl/koopgedrag. This can be done between September 7 and October 31. Several €25 restaurant gift cards will be raffled off among the study participants.

Privacy Guaranteed

Participants’ privacy is protected in accordance with the new privacy legislation (GDPR). Participants’ responses are not linked to their home addresses and will be used exclusively for the 2021 Koopstromen Survey.
