Digital Buyers Counter and Register
Registration and reporting obligation for traders and buyers
Are you a buyer or trader of second-hand or miscellaneous goods? Then you are required to register with the municipality via the Digital Buyers Counter (DOL) EN keep a digital record of your purchases and sales through the Digital Buyers Register (DOR).
This obligation is legally established in article 437 of the Criminal Code. This helps you avoid inadvertently becoming involved in criminal activities and protects your business.
Annual inspection
The municipality conducts random annual inspections of businesses. If your affairs are not in order during the inspection, the municipality will inspect you more frequently and you risk a fine.
Did you accidentally purchase stolen items? You can then claim back the money you lost from the receiver through the Direct Liability Service Organization foundation (stichting ServiceOrganisatie Directe Aansprakelijkstelling - SODA).
