DigiD is an identification method that allows you to verify your identity online with government services and other institutions. It stands for digital identity and provides assurance regarding the identity of users. With DigiD, individuals can securely log in to various affiliated organizations.

How does it work?

With a personal DigiD, you can, for example, arrange the following matters:

  1. Apply for child benefits; 
  2. Register in the Dutch Donor Register;
  3. Arrange services with your municipality; 
  4. Arrange matters concerning your health insurance.

What should I do?

You can apply for a personal DigiD through the website: www.digid.nl/en/. To do this, you must be registered in the Personal Records Database (BRP).
