DigiD is an identification method that allows you to verify your identity online with government services and other institutions. It stands for "digital identity" and verifies the identity of users. With DigiD, people can securely log in to various affiliated organizations.

How does it work?

With a personal DigiD, you can, for example, handle the following matters:

  1. Apply for child benefits; 
  2. Register with the Dutch Donor Registry;
  3. Arrange services in your municipality; 
  4. Make arrangements regarding your health insurance.

What should I do?

You can apply for a personal DigiD through the website: www.digid.nl/en/. To do this, you must be registered in the Personal Records Database (BRP).
