DigiD stands for Digital Identity and is a personal combination of a username and a password. You use DigiD to identify yourself on the internet, ensuring organisations know they are dealing with the right person. 

How does it work?

With your personal DigiD, you can arrange the following matters online, among others:

  • file tax returns;
  • applying for child benefit;
  • registering in the Donor Register;
  • request services from your municipality, such as an extract from the Basic Register of Persons (BRP);
  • arranging matters regarding your Health insurance.

What to do?

You can apply for your DigiD through the DigiD.nl website . To do so, you must be listed as a " enrolled " in the Personal Records Database (BRP).
