The Organization

Our congregation
Voorschoten was granted market rights by Count Floris V of Holland as early as 1282. Since then, the Voorstraat has been the heart of our village, with its picturesque facades, stately linden trees, and famous village pump.
We are the village of Duivenvoorde Castle, the Cultuurfabriek, and the sisters at Huize Bijdorp. We are a community of sports enthusiasts and volunteers. We are home to more than 26,000 engaged residents and bon vivants. We are a green oasis in the midst of major cities. A village with a small-town character, a metropolitan mindset, and strong local government.

Organizational Structure
Within our municipality, we operate under an organizational structure consisting of three departments: Services, Operations, and Administration. Each department focuses on the specific clients it serves: our residents, our colleagues, and the municipal executive board.

Our core values—trust, responsibility, commitment, and enjoyment—form the foundation of our organization. We work hard to create a professional and business-oriented work environment within an informal and family-like culture.
