Cybercrime Challenge

Digital security is a top priority for municipalities in the Leiden region—and that includes Voorschoten. This is because cybercriminals are constantly devising new ways to steal personal information and money. If you’ve fallen victim to this, it can have a significant impact—financially, of course, but it can also have emotional or psychological consequences.

That is whythe municipalitiesof Leiden, Oegstgeest, Leiderdorp, Zoeterwoude, and Voorschoten are working together to raise residents’ awareness and build their resilience against online criminals.

That’s why, starting October 14, all residents can take the Cybercrime Challenge at home, at school, or at work. The Cybercrime Challenge is a half-hour online training course, designed for both beginners and advanced users, that covers topics such as phishing (luring you to a fake website) and extortion (online blackmail).

This way, all our residents can learn more about the most common forms of online crime.
