Together with various partners, such as the police and housing authorities, the municipality is working to create a safe living environment for the residents of Voorschoten. The goal is to reduce the number of home burglaries and thefts and thereby enhance residents’ sense of safety. To this end, the municipality is implementing numerous measures to reduce the likelihood of home burglaries and other forms of crime. In addition, the municipality is contributing to crime prevention efforts.

Register your camera with the police

Camera footage helps the police solve burglaries, robberies, and other crimes. Do you have one or more cameras installed around or on your home or business premises? Please let us know. The better the police know where cameras are located in your neighborhood, the faster they can work to solve crimes.

How does it work?

Suppose your home is broken into. The police will then check a database to see who in your neighborhood has a camera installed. They can then quickly retrieve the footage to see if the perpetrator might be in the footage. So the police aren’t watching your cameras live; they’re simply keeping track of where they’re located. This way, your camera not only protects your own property, but also helps make your neighborhood safer.
