Committee Discusses the Voorschoten Housing Vision 2023–2027

On Thursday, November 16, the Housing, Planning, and Green Spaces Committee will discuss the Voorschoten Housing Vision 2023–2027. During the council meeting on September 28, the municipal council adopted the various policy principles. These policy principles have been incorporated into the housing vision.

The municipality of Voorschoten faces the challenge of building more affordable housing. In addition, the city council has decided to introduce a so-called “purchase protection” measure. This measure prevents affordable owner-occupied homes from being bought up by speculators and rented out at high prices.

Knarrenhof Citizens' Initiative

The Knarrenhof citizens’ initiative has been incorporated into the housing vision, as has the focus on flexible housing within the municipality. In short: the municipality of Voorschoten is working on various ways to expand and maintain an affordable housing stock.

Adoption of the Housing Vision

The Housing Vision will be adopted on December 7. This adoption marks the final step in the process that began in March with the adoption of the Voorschoten Housing Vision Initial Concept. Over the past few months, the public engagement process has been underway, and there have been several communication sessions to keep residents informed about the progress. The municipality is committed to a vision that will allow us to continue building a pleasant place to live for all residents in the coming years!
