Executive board raises awareness for World Suicide Prevention Week
Anyone wearing the yellow ribbon from 113 Suicide Prevention shows that they are open to talking about the issue. The “ executive board ” (Suicide Prevention Center) of the municipality of Voorschoten also pinned on a ribbon today. With this symbolic gesture, the “ executive board ” is supporting World Suicide Prevention Week.

During World Suicide Prevention Week, Alderman van Hellemondt is wearing the yellow-orange ribbon from 113 Suicide Prevention. The ribbon symbolizes hope, remembrance, and solidarity. “Anyone who wears it shows that they are open to talking about suicidal thoughts. Of course, that’s quite complicated, but it’s precisely by asking the question that you can make a difference. Asking the question can save a life.”
Ribbons and Questions on the Spot Maps
The more people who join the initiative, the better. That’s why residents who are open to having a conversation can pick up a free yellow-orange ribbon. You can do so this week at the Klant Contact centre in the “ town hall ” on Leidseweg, while supplies last. “Vraag op Zak” cards are also available at the library on Wijngaardenlaan.
