Cabinet Presents Final Fall Policy Statement of the Coalition Term

The municipal executive expects us to have a surplus of €1,036,000 in 2021 . This is stated in the 2018–2022 Fall Budget Report, which the municipal executive recently presented. This Fall Memorandum is a second interim report on 2021 in which we present the status of the implementation of the 2021 program budget through August.

Finance Alderman Marcel Cramwinckel: “Thanks primarily to higher-than-expected grants from the national government and a one-time benefit from the former Werkorganisatie, we have seen positive surprises in this year’s operating budget. However, we must remain vigilant, as there are still setbacks and uncertainties.”

Cost Control for Youth

Municipal spending on youth care is rising again by nearly 400,000. That is the biggest setback, but we have since implemented a package of measures in response, the effects of which will become clear later. This is, incidentally, a problem that many municipalities are struggling with.

In conclusion

It is of the utmost importance to keep Voorschoten financially stable and healthy. We are doing everything in our power to achieve this, regardless of factors beyond our control. This will allow us to keep Voorschoten strong and prepare it for a sustainable and progressive future.
