Executive board makes the draft implementation plan for Starrenburg III available for public review

As the design team consisting of De Raad Bouw, Niersman Project Development, and our city officials, we’ve been able to take this step together. Thanks also to the Rijnland Water Board, especially as water conservation and climate-resilient design are demanding more and more attention. On to the next milestone!”

Obligation to Provide Details

In the Voorschoten Oost zoning plan, the Regional Planning and Development Agency ( municipal council ) has included a requirement to develop a detailed plan for the Starrenburg III area. This means that the Municipal Council of Voorschoten ( executive board ) is authorized to adopt a detailed plan. According to the draft plan, 356 housing units will be built, ranging from public housing and row houses and waterfront homes to semi-detached homes and detached villas.

The draft implementation plan is available for public review for six weeks. Until January 31, 2024, anyone who wishes to do so may submit their comments to the municipality. You can view the draft at www.ruimtelijkeplannen.nl by searching for the plan name “Starrenburg.” If you wish, you can also view it at the “ town hall.” To do so, call 14071 during office hours and ask for project manager Magda Leering.

Next steps

After January 31, the municipality will review and respond to any comments that have been submitted. The executive board will then adopt the detailed development plan. After that, the developers will submit an environmental permit application, so that construction of homes in Voorschoten can finally begin.
