Carbide Cutting

Carbide shooting involves setting off a gas explosion using carbide and water. This produces loud bangs and is dangerous. Carbide shooting is prohibited in the municipality of Voorschoten. This is stipulated in the General Local Ordinance (APV). It is not permitted to do this in public spaces or on private property.

Bonfires

Large bonfires are prohibited in Voorschoten. 

A cozy, small bonfire in a fire pit is allowed. Do this only in your own front or back yard, and not on public roads.

Please note:

  • Keep a safe distance from buildings, the road, and other people's belongings.
  • Burn only clean wood.
  • Do not burn trash.
  • Do not use flammable liquids such as rubbing alcohol or gasoline.
