A job opportunities campaign for job seekers asks the question: What If?...
A new campaign asks the question: “What if… your dream job looks different than you think? And you could switch to a profession that’s in high demand?” The “What If” campaign encourages job seekers to switch to professions with better job prospects. The campaign will run through the end of this year in the South Holland Central labor market region (Lansingerland, Leidschendam-Voorburg, Pijnacker-Nootdorp, Voorschoten, Wassenaar, and Zoetermeer).
"What If" Campaign Inspires Job Seekers and Employers Alike
The “What If” campaign was developed by the South Holland Central Regional Employment Service ( WerkgeversServicepunt , WSP ZHC) to encourage job seekers to put their talents to use in a job they hadn’t yet considered. The campaign focuses on the stories of people who have made the switch and found their new dream job in a different profession. The campaign also calls on employers to be open to new talent: highly motivated and capable individuals who can fill “ job openings ” roles, even if they come from a different background.
Five sectors with a lot of job openings
There are currently many job openings and opportunities in the environmental sector, Health, transportation and logistics, construction and engineering, and retail. At the same time, many people are losing their jobs due to the COVID-19 crisis, and it is not always easy to find other work. In 2020, the number of job openings in Central South Holland fell by 13.5%. Especially now, it may be important to look beyond your own profession. Even people who currently still have a job are welcome to apply.
Guidance, retraining, and continuing education
When transitioning to a new job, a person’s experience or educational background is of secondary importance. It is much more important that they have the right motivation and talents. The “ WerkgeversServicepunt ” (Job Center) in Zuid-Holland Centraal and the municipalities in the region provide job seekers with guidance toward a new career, connect them with employers, and offer opportunities for retraining and continuing education.
