Civil Affairs Reduces Wait Times for Travel Documents

Vacation season is coming up! Applications for travel documents have increased significantly. The Civil Affairs Department does not want you to have to wait longer than usual for an appointment. We have therefore taken a number of measures to ensure that everyone can go on vacation with a valid travel document.

  • You can quickly and easily schedule an appointment yourself to apply for or renew a travel document or driver's license at https://www.voorschoten.nl/afspraak-maken-en-inplannen.
  • Appointments already scheduled between June 20 and July 10 will be moved up. The customer service center will contact the affected residents by phone to suggest an earlier time.
  • During peak periods, an additional service counter will be open at the Civil Affairs Office. You can pick up the documents you’ve requested here by appointment. This allows the regular Civil Affairs service counter to remain available for new applications.
  • Additional staff members have been assigned to handle all requests.
  • It usually takes 6 business days for your travel document or driver's license to be ready. If you need the document sooner, you can use the expedited process.

We expect the high volume of visitors to continue throughout the month of July. We recommend that you schedule an appointment well in advance of your vacation to apply for your travel document or driver’s license.
