Boa Officers and Police Launch the "Dark Days" Offensive
The municipal enforcement officers of Voorschoten and the police are once again launching the “Dark Days Campaign.” Because burglaries are more common during these dark months, they are checking to see if doors are properly locked and if there is adequate lighting.
Burglars and bicycle thieves take advantage of the dark fall and winter months to strike more often. In the dark, they are less visible and can carry out their crimes more easily than, for example, in the summer. To thwart these crimes, the Voorschoten municipal enforcement team and the police are working closely together as part of the “Dark Days Offensive.”
Make sure to lock your home and property securely
In the coming period, the special enforcement officers will be conducting frequent checks at various times to ensure that you have properly secured your home and property. If you haven’t, they may actually end up standing right in your yard. If they can get in, so can burglars! In addition, the team will be checking to see if the outdoor lighting around homes is working properly.
Police to Step Up Patrols
The police are also participating in the “Dark Days” Campaign. To prevent crime, officers will step up patrols and organize burglary prevention initiatives. As part of their patrols, they will also check bicycle lights. In addition, the police are asking residents to be on the lookout for suspicious situations.
