Social assistance for self-employed persons
As of October 1, 2021, the TONK (Temporary Support for Necessary Costs) as part of the corona support package has ended. It is therefore no longer possible to make use of the TONK scheme.
Support
From October 1, the municipality can support households in financial distress through the Decree on assistance for the self-employed (Bbz). The cabinet has decided to temporarily simplify the Bbz (during the fourth quarter of 2021) on three points:
- Disregarding the asset test.
- Making it possible to apply for the Bbz benefit retroactively (max. two months).
- Determining the income and the amount of the Bbz benefit per calendar month (instead of per financial year) and the direct provision of the Bbz benefit as a non-repayable grant (and not as a provisional loan).
As of January 1, 2022, the Bbz will be implemented again without modifications.
Apply
The Municipality of Leidschendam-Voorburg also implements the Bbz for the municipalities of Voorschoten and Wassenaar. From October 1, residents of the three municipalities can apply for the Bbz via the website of the municipality of Leidschendam-Voorburg.
