Social assistance for young people

The municipality assesses whether you are entitled to social assistance for young people. Receiving social assistance does not always mean you receive money. In some cases, you may receive food, clothing, or housing, for example. The assistance can also be a loan that you must repay later.

Cost-sharing standard if you share a home

The cost-sharing rule means that if you share a home with other adults, your Social assistance benefit will be adjusted accordingly. • You log in with your DigiD.
• You will search for a job or a study program for 4 weeks.
• You must keep all job application letters and enrolment documents with employment agencies for 4 weeks.
• The municipality will work with you to help you find work quickly.
• If you have not found a job or a training program within these 4 weeks, the municipality will determine whether you are eligible for a Social assistance benefit .
• If you are already receiving unemployment benefits, you should apply for the Social assistance benefit four weeks before your unemployment benefits end.
• During the last 4 weeks of your WW benefit, you must search for work or a study programme.

If you disagree with the decision of the municipality, you can submit an objection within 6 weeks.
