Social Assistance, Reporting a Change
Changes in your personal circumstances may affect your social assistance benefits. You are required to report these changes to the municipality immediately.
How does it work?
The amount of your social assistance benefit depends on your personal situation. The municipality determines the amount of your benefit based on the information you have provided. If this information is no longer accurate, you may receive too much or too little money.
Examples of changes you need to report
Work and Education:
- You are starting or stopping work.
- You will be working more or fewer hours.
- You are going to enroll in a program.
Housing:
- You're going to move in together.
- Someone is going to move in with you.
- You own a home abroad.
Children:
- If your children are registered at your address but are moving away.
- If your adult child drops out of school or stops pursuing their studies.
Other income:
- If you've won the lottery.
- If you have received an inheritance.
What should I do?
- Please report the changes as soon as possible using the form provided by the municipality.
- If you do not report changes, or do not report them immediately, the municipality may fine you. The municipality may also temporarily reduce or suspend your benefits.
- You must repay the entire amount of money you received in excess.
