Social Assistance, Re-evaluation
If you receive social assistance benefits, the municipality will conduct regular reviews. These reviews allow the municipality to determine whether you are still eligible for your benefits. The municipality also assesses whether you are able to find work.
How does it work?
During a re-examination, the municipality will review, among other things:
- whether you are still receiving the correct benefits
- whether any income you may have (such as alimony) has been correctly deducted from your benefits
- whether your net worth has been accurately determined
- or if your personal circumstances have changed, resulting in you receiving more or less in benefits
- whether there is a job available for you
- how you can find paid work again as quickly as possible so that you no longer need benefits
You are required to cooperate with a re-examination. The municipality determines how often it conducts re-examinations.
What should I do?
- You will receive a re-examination form.
- Please fill out the form and provide the requested information.
- Please return the form along with the supporting documents to the municipality.
Research on Finding a Job
- You will receive a re-examination form and an invitation to an interview.
- Please fill out the form.
- During the meeting, you will discuss, among other things, what you are doing to find work and how the municipality might be able to help you with this.
Municipal Decision
- You will receive a letter regarding the results of the follow-up examination.
- If there are any changes, the letter will outline your new rights and obligations.
- The letter may include an action plan. This action plan outlines the agreements on how you can find paid work as quickly as possible. You must adhere to these agreements. The municipality will verify this during the next review.
If you disagree with the results of the re-examination, you can file an objection with the municipality.
What do I need?
During a re-examination, the municipality may, for example, ask about:
- your applications during the period since the last review
- any recent academic results
- proof of rent payment
- any recent divorce papers
- proof of the rent amount
- proof of your income and that of your partner (if applicable) and other family members
- proof of debts owed by you, your partner (if any), and other family members
- bank statements for the last 3 months
