Residents' Meeting on the Leidseweg-Bachlaan and Mozartlaan Intersections
The Leidseweg-Bachlaan and Leidseweg-Mozartlaan intersections are being redesigned. To update local residents and stakeholders on this project, the municipality is organizing a community meeting. It will take place on Tuesday, March 3, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Bondsgebouw, located at Leidseweg 100. No advance registration is required.
The municipality is going to redesign the Leidseweg-Bachlaan and Leidseweg-Mozartlaan intersections. The goal is to improve traffic safety and visibility, especially for cyclists and pedestrians. They should soon be able to cross more easily and safely.
Focus Group
In May 2025, the municipality organized an open house. Local residents and stakeholders were able to view the preliminary designs for the intersections there. This was followed by two meetings with a focus group. In addition to residents, the Fietsersbond, schools, the police, and the fire department also participated. Ultimately, this led to a single design for each intersection.
30-km zone and speed bumps
In the selected designs, the intersections will be redesigned based on a 30 km/h zone. The intersections will be raised. They will also be painted yellow. In addition, crosswalks will be installed. For oncoming traffic, the intersections will be marked with traffic signs and, in the evening, with warning lights.
Program
The municipality’s project leaders will open the evening with an explanation of the process that has been followed. Experts from the engineering firm Megaborn will discuss the safety principles and the improvements that have been selected. The Fietsersbond will address the need for 30 km/h zones. Finally, Alderman Schokker, together with the experts, will answer questions from the participants.
