Berend Potjer Appointed as Scout for the Municipality of Voorschoten
Berend Potjer has been appointed as an exploratory representative in the municipality of Voorschoten. The party leaders and prospective caucus chairs of all parties elected to the municipal council jointly decided this today. They did so at the suggestion of the largest party, GroenLinks-PvdA.

Mr. Potjer will explore the possibilities for forming a new municipal executive. To this end, he will hold meetings with representatives of all elected parties starting on March 27. He is expected to present the results within three weeks. They will then be discussed during a public council meeting at City Hall. Afterward, the city council will decide on the next steps toward forming a new municipal executive.
Experienced and pragmatic executive
GroenLinks-PvdA lead candidate Albert Deuzeman explains: “Berend Potjer is an experienced and pragmatic leader who, as an outside observer, can take an objective look at the dynamics. His strengths lie in clear analysis, creative solutions, and open communication. We are confident that, thanks in part to his experience as a provincial administrator and as a natural bridge-builder, he will carefully guide this process.”
Provincial Executive Member, Member of the Provincial Council, and (Interim) Manager
Mr. Potjer served as a provincial executive member of the Province of South Holland from 2019 to 2025. Prior to that, he was a member of the Provincial Council for GroenLinks and an (interim) manager at various organizations.
