Businesses in Dobbewijk Can Conduct an Energy Audit

BIZ Dobbewijk Association: “We all need to work together to make Voorschoten sustainable.”

The Dobbewijk BIZ Association wants to make its business park more sustainable. That’s why Dobbewijk is teaming up with the municipality of Voorschoten. Fifty energy-intensive businesses can now have an energy scan conducted free of charge. Patricia Owen-Hamers, a board member of the association, is “certainly pleased” with this initiative:“The municipality is working hard to make Voorschoten more sustainable. We really need to do this together. We, as business owners, also consider this very important. We’re very eager to take advantage of these scans and all the aspects they entail.” Alderwoman Erika Spil:“I wholeheartedly agree.” Together, they officially launched the initiative on Tuesday, November 2. 

50 Energy-intensive businesses can have a free energy audit conducted by the consulting firm KlimaatRoute. The cost is jointly covered by the municipality of Voorschoten and the province of South Holland. The KlimaatRoute consultant will examine aspects such as lighting, heating, insulation, and the potential for installing solar panels on the roof. The companies will also receive advice on tax incentives and subsidies. For certain measures—such as LED lighting, insulation, or solar panels—a project can be developed that involves local or regional contractors. The companies are responsible for covering the costs of implementation themselves. The project will run for two years.
