Arjen Verkaik, Explorer in Voorschoten

As the largest political group, the VVD has proposed that an informateur oversee the exploratory phase. Following consultations with the other party leaders, Mr. Arjen Verkaik has been appointed to this role.

In the coming period, Mr. Verkaik will serve as an informateur to explore the possibilities for forming a municipal executive in Voorschoten. Verkaik is an independent consultant in the field of labor market policy. Until 2018, he served for twelve years as an alderman in the municipality of Velsen, where he also lives. In his early years, up through the second grade of elementary school, he lived in Voorschoten.

The exploratory negotiator has been tasked with holding discussions with all political parties regarding the possibilities for a broad coalition in order to contribute to stable governance. He will present the results of these exploratory talks to the city council along with a recommendation. At that time, the current status will also be shared publicly.
