Preliminary agreement signed for homes next to Kruispuntkerk
The construction of a residential complex with approximately seventeen rental units, right next to the Kruispuntkerk. To this end, the municipality of Voorschoten signed a preliminary agreement today with project developer Rico Wisman of Het Kruispunt Voorschoten BV. Among other things, the agreement stipulates that the units will be built for social housing, mid-range rental, and the private sector.
“I’m pleased that the preliminary agreement has been signed, especially because it provides more clarity regarding the development of new housing in the village center,” says Alderman Paul de Bruijn. “This allows us to once again make a significant contribution to our urgent housing challenge. The future residential building will feature a diverse range of rental units, for which there is high demand across every segment. It’s a wonderful addition and yet another boost for the center of Voorschoten.”

Clear Agreements
The previous agreement sets out arrangements regarding, among other things, the division of responsibilities and the obligations of the project initiator and the municipality. It also includes agreements on, for example, the integration of the residential building into the surrounding area, the dimensions of the planning area, and the guiding principles for the design of public spaces. Now that the agreement has been signed, both parties can proceed with the preparations to carry out the construction.

Planning
Kruispunt Voorschoten BV is now further developing the design. Construction is expected to begin in 2026. The transformation of the Kruispuntkerk into a cultural center is also expected to begin that same year.
