The Craftsmen's and Bailiff's House Is for Sale
The Municipality of Voorschoten has put the Ambachts- en Baljuwhuis at Voorstraat 12 up for sale. The Municipal Executive has retained Hoogenraad NVM real estate agents to oversee the sale and ensure the process is handled with care. As of today, the property is listed on Funda’s business page, and interested parties can contact the agency.
The Ambachts- en Baljuwhuis is a 17th-century National Historic Landmark of great cultural and historical significance to the center of Voorschoten. The future owner must take into account a number of legal, cultural-historical, and economic considerations. To this end, a bidding booklet has been prepared—a document that provides information about this unique building, the sales process, and the terms and conditions for bidding and sale. Councilwoman Erika Spil: “I look forward to seeing the various parties come forward with suitable plans for the Ambachts- en Baljuwhuis, thereby making the center of Voorschoten more beautiful and attractive.”
The municipality of Voorschoten intends to offer the property to a broad group of interested parties through a public sale. The sales process consists of two phases. In the first phase, interested parties express their interest by submitting a general outline of their plan. The plan must comply with the conditions set forth in the bidding document. Applicants must document their submission as thoroughly and comprehensively as possible. In the subsequent phase, selected parties will be invited to further develop their plans and finalize their proposals. The most suitable offer will be selected from among the final plans. This will then be submitted as a final proposal to the Municipal Executive. It has been agreed that the City Council will be consulted before the sale proceeds. Council members are expected to be able to review the final plan by the end of next summer.
A bequest has been in place since the beginning of the last century. This means that the new owner is obligated to preserve the public function the building has always served. The property is being sold as-is, with a restaurant currently operating on the ground floor and part of the first floor.
