The Ambachts- en Baljuwhuis Gets a New Tenant

After several turbulent years, the Ambachts- en Baljuwhuis will have a new tenant as of January 1, 2025. The grand café and restaurant Het Wapen van Voorschoten will take over the lease of the historic building. On Wednesday, November 27, the current tenant, Floris V, Het Wapen van Voorschoten, and the municipality signed the agreement.

The new tenant has signed an open-ended lease. The first step will be to renovate the restaurant area to meet their wishes and requirements. The new restaurant is expected to open its doors in the first quarter of 2025. The Wapen will announce the exact plans for the rest of the building in early 2025.

Alderman Paul de Bruijn: “I’m glad that we can now put this period of uncertainty behind us, and that this beautiful national monument on Voorstraat will soon be put to use again. I’m confident that the new tenants will roll out a great new concept that will add value to Voorstraat and our town center. This new tenant also offers additional opportunities to honor the legacy associated with the property. The Wapen van Voorschoten is already a place where everyone feels at home, and various organizations make use of its facilities. With the extended hours at the Ambachts- en Baljuwhuis, this potential can be utilized even more effectively. I wish Mariette Mol and Pieter van den Berg the very best of luck.”
