Discharge of wastewater

Wastewater Discharges by Companies

If your business intends to discharge wastewater into the municipal sewer system, the municipality requires you to notify them. Certain discharges only need to be reported. For other discharges, you must apply for a permit from the municipality.

Discharging Domestic Wastewater

It is prohibited to discharge domestic wastewater outside the sewer system—for example, into a stream, river, lake, or into the ground. Is your home or other building not (yet) connected to the sewer system? If so, apply for an exemption from the discharge ban. You can do this through the water board or water authority in your region.

If you have a water permit for discharge, you do not need to apply for an exemption.

You can find out what you need to do by visiting the Omgevingsloket website at .
