New Year's Eve Trash
Waste Collection Schedule
The Voorschoten Waste Collection Calendar app shows when the municipality will empty the bins on your street, including in 2026.
In week 52, the municipality will collect extra general waste instead of food scraps, organic waste, and old paper and cardboard.
In Week 1, the municipality collects general waste, newspaper, and cardboard.
Trash Containers
On New Year's Eve, the municipality will lock all underground and above-ground recycling bins throughout the day.
Street trash cans closed
Starting Monday, December 22, the city will lock the street trash cans. Starting Monday, January 5, the city will unlock the street trash cans again.
Recycling bins closed
On Wednesday, December 31, the municipality will close all recycling bins in Voorschoten. The bins for glass and the bins for waste paper and cardboard will be closed starting at 1:00 p.m. The bins for general waste will be closed starting at 6:00 p.m.
On Thursday, January 1, the municipality will reopen all the containers.
Recycling Center Hours
The Avalex recycling center will close early on Wednesday, December 24, and Wednesday, December 31: at 4:00 p.m.
The recycling center will be closed on Thursday, December 25, Friday, December 26, and Thursday, January 1.
The municipal waste collection center on Koninklijke Marinelaan will be closed on Wednesday, December 24, and Wednesday, December 31. You will not be able to drop off small chemical waste, electrical appliances, or mattresses on those days.
