Application for an exemption for the centre area
The Schoolstraat in Voorschoten is a pedestrian area. There are bollards (pollers) to close off this area. Suppliers are allowed to supply the shops from Monday to Friday between 07:00 and 11:00. They are only permitted to enter Schoolstraat from Koningin Julianalaan during these times.
In addition, Treubstraat and the southern section of Voorstraat are closed to cars and other motor vehicles. Only people with a special licence are allowed to drive here.
How does it work?
An exemption may be requested. To keep the area safe for shoppers, certain Requirements have been established for obtaining the exemption.
Permanent exemptions (traffic that has access everywhere in the shopping area at all times).
a. urgent maintenance where the safety of persons is at stake (utility companies);
b. urgent delivery, valuable cargo transport (where routes and times change constantly);
c. municipal services carrying out work in the shopping area (infrastructure malfunctions, sweepers END. etc.);
d. designated services that conduct surveillance, inspections, and supervision ;
e. passenger transport for disabled persons including the Voorschoten circle bus
Exemptions related to the " Requirements " (traffic requiring limited access).
a. owners of parking spaces in the area
b. owners and residents in the area for loading and unloading.
c. Entrepreneurs in the area for loading and unloading
