Application for an Exemption in the Downtown Area
Schoolstraat in Voorschoten is a pedestrian zone. Bollards have been installed to cordon off this area. Delivery drivers may deliver goods to the stores Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. During these hours, they may only enter Schoolstraat from Koningin Julianalaan.
Treubstraat and the southern section of Voorstraat are also closed to cars and other motor vehicles. Only people with a special permit are allowed to drive there.
How does it work?
An exemption may be requested. To keep the area safe for shoppers, certain conditions apply to obtaining the exemption.
Permanent exemptions (traffic that has access to the entire shopping district at all times).
a. urgent maintenance where the safety of people is at risk (utility companies);
b. urgent deliveries, cash-in-transit services (where routes and times are constantly changing);
c. municipal services that carry out work in the shopping district (infrastructure malfunctions, street sweeper, etc.);
d. designated services that conduct surveillance, inspections, and monitoring;
e. passenger transportation for people with disabilities, including the Voorschoten shuttle bus
Conditional exemptions (traffic requiring limited access).

b. property owners and residents in the area for loading and unloading.
c. Businesses in the loading and unloading area
