Correcting inaccurate personal data
The municipality maintains records of its residents in the Basic Registration of Persons (BRP). If your personal information is not recorded correctly, you can ask the municipality to correct it. You can check your information at MijnOverheid.
The " BRP " (Personal Information Record) contains, in addition to your first names, last name, gender, and citizen service number (BSN), information about your:
- parents
- nationality
- marriage or registered partnership
- death
- enrolment in the BRP
- place of residence (address)
- children
- residence permit (if you come from another country)
- guardianship and curatorship
- travel document (passport and/or identity card)
- voting rights
