VS-1081-1 Request a mailing address using DigiD

Important Information

Do you not have a permanent residential address, or are you staying at a facility? If so, you can request a mailing address to ensure the government can reach you. The person or facility listed at the mailing address is called the “mailing address provider.” The mailing address provider is responsible for ensuring that you receive your mail from the government. Examples include:

  • letters
  • tax forms

Good to know:

  • A mailing address is always an address in the Netherlands.
  • It cannot be a P.O. box.
  • Reason for requesting a mailing address.
Who can apply for a mailing address?
  • The individual in question (the person who will be living in a facility, or who does not have a residential address)
  • Parents, guardians, and caregivers of young people up to age 16 who need a mailing address.
Requesting a mailing address for someone else—what are the options?
  • A partner (whether married or in a registered partnership) may apply for a mailing address on behalf of the other partner if he or she has been authorized in writing by that partner to do so.
  • Adult children may request a mailing address on behalf of a parent if they have been authorized to do so by that parent.
  • Any adult acting on behalf of a person who has authorized him or her in writing to do so.
  • The director of the facility where you will be living.
To ensure better and faster service, the municipality requests, at a minimum:
  • Information about the person providing the mailing address.
  • The address where you would like to register.
Please note!
  • The primary resident of the mailing address must submit a statement confirming that he or she will ensure that the mail is delivered to you. To do so, the primary resident can fill out the following form: PU-2082-1 Declaration of Consent for a Mailing Address with DigiD.
  • Providing a mailing address does not guarantee that it will always be approved. The application is reviewed by the Public Affairs Department of the municipality of Voorschoten.
