To exhume human remains, you need a “ licence .” Exhumation may be permitted if an application for a “ licence ” has been submitted to the mayor either within 2 months of the burial or at least 10 years afterward.
You may have the remains exhumed if you wish to bury the deceased in a different grave. You may also choose to cremate the remains at a later date. If you wish to cremate the remains within one year of burial, you will need a authorisation from the public prosecutor.
