Important Information

Bees are protected animals, which is why keeping bees as a hobby or for professional purposes is prohibited. Would you still like to do so? You can apply for an exemption from the municipality.

Good to know:

Beekeeping is subject to certain rules. You must take the following into account:

  • You may not keep bees within 30 metre of residences or other buildings where people are present during the day, such as businesses and schools. You also may not keep bees within 30 metre of a public road.

  • The prohibition does not apply if you take adequate protective measures (by erecting a 2- metre) or if the surrounding buildings are owned by you.
  • When you submit your application, you will be asked how many bees and hives you have,
  • You are asked to attach a site plan with a floor plan as an attachment.
