Important Information

Taking off and landing an aircraft, such as a helicopter, is prohibited on any site other than an airport. Would you still like to do so? If so, you can apply for an exemption from the provincial government. With an exemption, you are permitted to use a site other than an airport to take off or land.

Costs: There are no costs associated with filing a municipal report.

Good to know:

Areas where drones can be flown:

For safety reasons, you are not allowed to fly a drone just anywhere. For example, it is prohibited in areas surrounding airports. You are, however, allowed to fly in the uncontrolled portion of airspace. This portion is not monitored by air traffic control. You can find the rules for flying a drone on the Dutch government’s website.

To ensure better and faster service, the municipality requests, at a minimum:
  • The locations of landing and takeoff.
  • Aircraft type.
  • Date and time of aircraft takeoff.
  • Day and time of aircraft landing.
