VS-1022-1 Hospitality Industry, Operating License with DigiD

You need an operating license if you plan to start, take over, expand, or change a hospitality business. You need an operating license even if you do not serve alcohol. Examples of hospitality businesses include hotels, restaurants, cafes, snack bars, nightclubs, community centers, and clubhouses. This is not an exhaustive list.

Good to know:

In the following situations, you must apply for an operating permit from the municipality:

• You are starting or taking over a restaurant business.
• Your company's legal structure is changing.
• You will be assigned a different supervisor.
• You are going to carry out new activities.
• You are planning to expand your business through a renovation.
• You're building a patio or expanding your existing one.

To ensure better and faster service, the municipality requests, at a minimum:

• Information about the company/institution/organization.
• Information about the operator(s).
• Description of the hospitality business.
• Description of the premises included in the facility, listed by square meter. For example: 1st floor, restaurant - 30 m².

You are asked to attach the following attachment:

• A site plan for a patio.
• A recent Certificate of Good Conduct for all operators. (Required only if you are notapplying for an alcohol license.)
• Business Plan.
